A story may or may not influence the overall design of a game and even its mechanics, but a story IS NOT STRICTLY a game idea. The premise of a story can also influence the design of a game, but DO NOT make the premise the central design philosophy of a game.

This is one of the most common mistakes novice designers make, including yours. I'm sure most of you, at some point or another, have come across a situation like this: "I HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR A GAME. IT'S ABOUT ARMED DRAGONS FROM SPACE ATTACKING THE EARTH AND KIDNAPPING OUR WOMEN!" That is an idea for a story, not a game. Get the picture?

So let's take a step back now and just look at this. Ideally, a game idea (in the strictest sense of a "game idea") implies an abstract collection of rules, restrictions, limits, and possibly a goal. At the very least, it can even simply manifest itself as a general direction or premise of the game. In essence, it is about laying the foundations or the manifest of a set of mechanics that, with further development, will become "playable".

Impose self-control

One of the first things to consider is the need for reach and self-control. It's just too tempting to just step out into the vast expanse of the ocean that is collective consciousness and, with our bare hands, just fish for the next great game concept. This is where scope, themes, limitations, and focus come into play. As an individual or within a group, identify a topic, or a range of topics, that heightens your interests and brainstorm with those topics in mind. Better yet, set yourself a challenge or set of constraints that your brainstorming must adhere to. These methods do not stifle the ideation process. Rather, it forces you to explore more options and perspectives within a specific domain, which in itself is very conducive to brainstorming.

Where you are in your life has nothing to do with anyone else. It has everything to do with you and your purpose in life. When I was a child living with my great-aunt, I would always look at her and wonder why she never married or why she had no children, or why she had no more education. Those were all things that the culture I grew up in taught me directly or indirectly. Things that narrated the success of a person. Sadly, my great-aunt died before I could see how her teachings had helped me and I never had the opportunity to let her know how invaluable her teachings were and how much she meant to me. It has been more than 23 years since he passed away, but to this day he remains the most important and instrumental person in my life. I still use her teachings to this day and use them to empower and motivate others. I no longer feel that my life is missing anything because I am not married and because I do not have children. Those things no longer define my life. It is better to be happy and to be content within myself than to have many "things".

My great-aunt never lived an elegant life. She didn't have millions in the bank, she didn't own or reside in a mansion, and she never owned a car. I've never met anyone who likes to walk like her. She has helped heal marriages, straightened a wayward young man, cared for my sister and me while she cared for her elderly parents who lived with her. There are a couple of basic requirements for GPS to work. You need to know where you start from and where you plan to go. The more specific the better. Where you are in your life has a purpose

 

Where you are in your life has nothing to do with anyone else. It has everything to do with you and your purpose in life. When I was a child living with my great-aunt, I would always look at her and wonder why she never married or why she had no children, or why she had no more education. Those were all things that the culture I grew up in taught me directly or indirectly. Things that narrated the success of a person. Unfortunately, the same culture considered women who did not have children to be sterile and she would have to hurry and get เที่ยวไหนดี to have children and finally be able to prove that she was a woman. Men who had no children were seen as mules. Very scary. For years, I believed that something was wrong with me because one, I was not married and two, I had no children and three, I could not get a degree higher than my bachelor's degree. That was how I defined myself. It took me many years and hundreds of hours of Therapy to begin to change the way I think and how I see myself.

Now, although my great-aunt was never married and never had children or was "brought up" by our European cultural standards, she gave me a lot of invaluable advice in my youth. However, it wasn't until I became an adult and began to experience life that I realized how polite my great-aunt was. From a tertiary education point of view, I never received that kind of advice and life lessons in any college of higher education. She taught me how to be a young lady, how to navigate certain things, and how not to let a man drive me crazy. Of course, she never taught me the emotional side of things. That part I had to learn on my own. However, it was her teachings that helped me keep my head above water.

Sadly, my great-aunt died before I could see how her teachings had helped me and I never had the opportunity to let her know how invaluable her teachings were and how much she meant to me. It has been more than 23 years since he passed away, but to this day he remains the most important and instrumental person in my life. I still use her teachings to this day and use them to empower and motivate others. I no longer feel that my life is missing anything because I am not married and because I do not have children. Those things no longer define my life. It is better to be happy and to be content within myself than to have many "things".

My great-aunt never lived an elegant life. She didn't have millions in the bank, she didn't own or reside in a mansion, and she never owned a car. I've never met anyone who likes to walk like her. Although she never had any of that, all the elders of the Congregation passed through her humble abode to get some wisdom from her. She has helped heal marriages, straightened a wayward young man, cared for my sister and me while she cared for her elderly parents who lived with her. All of her brothers and sisters were married and had children, but I never heard my great-aunt say a negative word about her position in life. She was good about herself and her life was serving a purpose for the many people who came from far and near to speak to her. They always left with a happier spirit than they had with her. No one despised her because she was not married and had no children. They may talk about her behind her back and I have listened to the talks, yet they always went back to their life lessons.

Along with my great-aunt's teachings and life lessons, I got more life lessons along the way from other people who were just like her. They did not have and did not want the fancy things in life. They all lived simply, knowing that they are where they are because a higher purpose is being served. They know that their purpose is to motivate and empower other women or girls who are undecided in their life and who do not know how to navigate life, relationships, jobs and even education. In my adult life there are two women who stand out as my mentors. They were much older than me and treated me like their little sister. Wherever those two women are, I am sending them my gratitude and deep love.

How to get where you want to be in life

Getting where you want to be in life seems difficult and confusing at times, doesn't it? It is not necessary. It is quite similar to using your computer or GPS system to guide you from one place to another.

There are a couple of basic requirements for GPS to work. You need to know where you start from and where you plan to go. The more specific the better. You can say you want to travel from Chicago to San Francisco and get most of the เที่ยวไหนดี. If you add specific addresses to both locations, you have a plan that takes you door-to-door. How simple is that?

You have your own ability to go from one place to another in your life. It's called your internal Global Positioning System (GPS). It has the same basic requirements as automatic GPS; you still need to know where you are and where you want to go.

This question, however, is a bit more complicated. We don't all know where we are or where we want to go. Your internal GPS cannot give you any help without this information. You are paralyzed or lost.

What does it mean to know where you are now? This involves asking some tough questions and giving honest answers. Start by taking stock of your life in these areas:

Education

Finance

· Health

Relationships

Spirituality

Think back to 3, 5 or 10 years and ask yourself, "Where did you expect to be now in these areas?" If you regularly set goals for yourself, this should be pretty easy to determine. If you don't set goals or write New Years resolutions, you may not have criteria to use as a measure.

This is a critical first step in calibrating your internal GPS. Even if you have goals or life plans, updating them every 6 months or so is an excellent habit to keep you on track, as you never know when construction is diverted by unforeseen circumstances (lost job, illness, divorce, etc.). impact what you want for your life.

Take some time and write down where you are in your life right now. If you don't know where you are, you won't know how to reach your desired goals! Make this a priority so you don't wander aimlessly through life.

The next step is knowing where you want to be with your life. Do you want to start a new career? Do you want to live in a warmer place? Have you thought about the size of your family? What about feeling healthier and happier? What specifically do you want to achieve in these areas?

These are the next questions you need to clarify. Using goals and visualizations in all areas can help you stay focused on going in the right direction. The clearer you are about your plan, the easier it will be for your internal GPS to lead the way and show you the steps to take to get there.
