As the football season ends, we look at some of the backbacks who have impressed us over the course of the English Premier League. These broad defenders are some of the key players in the game, crucial to both team's attacks and defense, and yet most of them are under-appreciated by the general population.
Here is a look at 5 of the best มิดฟิลด์ดาวรุ่ง who run their business in England:
Hector Bellerin
The young Spaniard chose the winters in London over the heat of sunny Spain, leaving La Masia to develop at Arsenal, and how has he developed! He began his football education as a right midfielder and became one of the league's best attacking right backs, skillfully aided by his cutting speed, which has so often been an asset to the Gunners whenever he is found out of possession. Arsene Wenger recently compared him to Arsenal legend Lauren, and if the twisted defender continues his development, he could even surpass his 'Invincible' compatriot.
Eric Dier
The 22-year-old Tottenham man has had a particularly impressive season. He has played across all defensive positions for Spurs and has performed excellently in each and every one of them. His great form and occasional goals have helped the Spurs maintain their push for their first league title in over fifty years! His feats won him and the England national team and he even scored a decisive goal for them in their victory against world champions Germany!
Cédric Soares
Signed by Sporting CP, Cédric Soares has made an immediate impact at Southampton and has replaced the outgoing Nathaniel Clyne, the right back easily fitting into the Saints lineup, as if he has been playing in the EPL for years. His fantastic form along with the rest of the Southampton defenders has been a significant factor in their being on a wide range of clean sheets! Needless to say, Clyne's departure has not been missed
Luke Shaw
Manchester United signed the young back-up for £ 30m from Southampton at the start of the 2014-15 season, then a world record transfer fee for a player still in his teens. He even made his full debut in England while still a teenager playing for Southampton. Since then, he has evolved year after year, adding attacking nous and defensive intelligence to his gameplay. His performance in his debut season for the Red Devils was such that he made the left back position his own and has commanded it ever since, until a terrible injury put him out of action this season.
Ben Chilwell
Greetings from Milton Keynes, the 19-year-old left-back has hardly played for Leicester City in the Premier League, but Arsenal have already tried to sign him and have their efforts reprimanded. Even Tottenham Hotspurs have the young defender on their radar. The young boy has come through Leicester's academy and has been amazing at youth levels - the reason for all the interest in him. He currently earns a meager salary - by football standards - of £ 800 a week, but that could all change in a matter of months.
