Luiz Felipe Scolari's reign at Stamford Bridge has come to an abrupt end. Scolari had the full confidence and support of the management, players and fans of the London club, but recent events have shown that the big man has not been able to fit in the big shoes left by the 'Special' Mourinho; which transformed the London club into a trophy winning team. He is currently making waves in the Italian Series 'A' league with Inter-Milan FC.
Scolari arrived with great confidence and hope, promising to return the club to the path of victory after the dismissal of Mourinho's successor; Avram Grant. However, this has not been the case since Scolari took over Stamford Bridge; he ดาวทีมเชลซี his lack of "experience" in managing club football. His series of outrageous losses and draws, especially at home, has broken the hearts of millions of fans around the world who, week after week, flock to support their beloved Chelsea Football club.
During his brief stint as Chelsea FC's head coach, the previously feared London club became so vulnerable that weaker teams could now defend themselves against Chelsea again. The series of scandalous draws and losses at Stamford Bridge; the home of Chelsea football club didn't help either.
This season, Chelsea has become the crying team of the other clubs that make up the legendary 'Big 4' recently losing scandalously to Liverpool, Arsenal and the 'almighty' Manchester United.
Scolari has an intimidating international record; having achieved the highest glory that any soccer coach can achieve, winning the world cup with his native Brazil in 2002. He also did very well as coach of Portugal, making him a world power in international soccer.
However, the lesson for Luiz Felipe Scolari is that success at the global or national level does not automatically translate into success at the club level; where the stars are arranged and nurtured. The world stage is just one way to show the stars that have been created at the club level. However, the club's challenges are more enormous, demanding and challenging as you have to deal with the daily training, discipline and well-being of your players and team. At the club level, many games are played, sometimes twice a week, strategies are drawn up and reviewed with each game and you don't have the luxury of having time to experiment as is the case at the country level.
Scolari lost his job after roughly 7 months in charge, during which time he played a total of 25 premier league games as the head coach of the Blues. He has only won 4 Premier League matches in the last 12 matches. This is the first time that Chelsea have failed to score 50 points in their first 25 games since Roman Abrahimovich acquired the London club. However, her main 'Achilles heel' has been his inability to rack up enough points at home and her loss of his invincibility at home, losing her once-mocked 'undefeated streak' at home to Liverpool. .
Among the top 5 clubs in the Premier League, Chelsea have lost the most points at home, having lost a total of 16 points at home. Chelsea are no longer feared and if things were allowed to continue as they were, they could risk failing to qualify for the 2009/2010 Champions League and in the worst case, not even winning trophies or silver medals for this season.
The life of a soccer coach is made up of two important events; Hired and fired. When he gets it right, he stays when he doesn't deliver; he will show you the way out. Scolari is a great coach, but I think he still has a lot to learn about football at club level. That reinforces the saying that "learning has no end" and, in the world of NOKIA, it is this beautiful and thought-provoking phrase "Nobody knows everything".
