Survivor: a brief history of the most watched reality show ever

 

One of the most important elements of television shows is lighting. Some may be surprised to discover the fact that lighting can often make or break a television show. A key aspect of lighting for a show can be one picture light or multiple picture lights, which can often help illuminate the background of a show. At the beginning of the game, the contestants are placed in teams, usually of eight to ten people each, and face another team. Challenges are then played, resulting in the winning team getting a reward or immunity from having to vote for a team member. Later in the competition, he individualizes himself and allows people the freedom to separate from their team and vote with other people.

From the beginning of the program it was clear that it was almost impossible to win by being honest with the other players all the time. In the first season, only one player realized that the key to the game was to make alliances with other players to move everyone forward. Since that inaugural season it has become a necessity to have a strong alliance in order to win the game and do well overall. However, some people have since chosen to get even more cunning and deceptive and backstab their own alliances and jump ship, so to speak, creating an atmosphere in which hardly anyone can be completely trustworthy.

Some people feel that one of the weaknesses of the program is that many times physically stronger people are kicked out of the game quickly during the individual part because the weaker players see them as a great threat. While quite unfortunate, this is a fact of the game and can be avoided if strong players are in a good, winning alliance. The interesting dichotomy between physically weak and strong players in the game arises when people have to choose between whether they want their teams to win and whether they want to eliminate physical threats for later in the game.

Survivor has been around for just over a decade and can easily be said to be one of the most successful reality shows, if not the most, of all time, largely in part because of its interesting dissection of the human character on whether the winning players they choose to be more honest and pleasant throughout the game or ruthless and deceptive.
