There is a lot to see here, but some of the most important features found here are found within the landscape itself. Places like Rideau Falls and the world famous Niagara Falls. Don't miss a visit to the Royal Canadian Mint. You will find it very interesting and informative. It's just a 145-mile trip from Montreal and it's close to Ottawa. It is quickly becoming famous for its annual summer festival and exciting winter carnival. It is the host of exquisite museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Civilization. While be sure to include a visit to Montmorency Falls. A really impressive site. If we head east towards the eastern prairie region of Canada, we will see Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. It is often known as the "Gateway to the West". This is at the points of the historic Red and Assinboine rivers. An annual event that everyone should attend at least once is the Festival du Voyageur. This is the largest winter festival in Canada. When you think of Canada, one of the first cities that comes to mind is Calgary. Home to Calgary's famous Stampede. This city is located in the extreme south of the province of Alberta. It would not be unreasonable to plan to visit neighboring cities like Edmonton or Banff. In addition to the Calgary Stampede, this city is also home to its annual popular music festival, a major event for Calgarians and visitors. Don't miss out on seeing the Canadian Rockies. Calgary is also pleased to boast that they have one of the fastest long-track ice skating rinks in the world.
