Men's dress shirt - Pattern and color

To purchase a men's dress shirt that is best for you, it is important to consider the color and pattern that suits your unique complexion and complexion. Follow these guidelines and you can buy a men's dress shirt that looks great.

Color: The formality of a shirt is determined by the amount of white at the bottom of the shirt. Whiter at the bottom of the shirt makes a shirt more formal. Solid color shirts are the most formal and white are the most elegant. This is because in a formal setting (which is generally dark) white will offer the greatest contrast with a dark tie.

For less formal occasions, consider blue shirts. Plain blue shirts further enhance the face, and mid-blue in particular highlights intense skin tones. When choosing a particular shade, find a mirror and find out which shade of blue highlights the face the men's t-shirts distracting you.

Men with a high-contrast complexion should choose a deeper blue shade, while those with a duller complexion should choose lighter blue or blue tones with a white pattern that dims the color.

Men with very little skin contrast (usually brown or black skin is required) can wear cream or tan colored shirts, while pink shirts are perfect for those with a light complexion and rosy cheeks. Yellow and orange shirts look good on men with low-contrast complexions, but should never be worn by those with sallow skin. They look particularly good in navy and brown outfits.

Pattern: White stripes on a blue background look good on most people. Red squares or stripes flatter those with a more reddish complexion, while yellow patterns work well for fair and blond men.

Shirts with a white background look particularly good with contrasting white collars. Try to find a club collar shirt if you are going to wear a contrast collar shirt. These shirts should always be worn with cufflinks.

The most important thing to remember is that the pattern of your shirt should contrast properly with the background based on your complexion. Those with high contrast complexions should have high contrast patterns, while those with low contrast complexions should continue with low contrast patterns.
