How to care for your virgin hair extensions

Virgin hair extensions are beautiful and luxurious, which is why they have become a fashion statement and a status symbol in themselves. However, while they are certainly worth it, hair extensions are expensive and should be treated as an investment. They can be used for up to a year or more and still look good with proper care and packaging. Just like your natural hair, you need to take care of your extensions if you want them to last and look good. Let's face it, the goal of buying expensive hair extensions is to look good, because you are fabulous and you need to look fabulous at all times!

There are 3 phases involved in caring for your virgin hair extensions. The first phase is pre-installation, the period of time before you have your extensions installed. During pre-installation, the first thing you should do is seal your frames on both sides. This is the most important step to preserve the longevity of your extensions. Sealing your wefts will prevent your extensions from coming off. There is nothing worse than using a molting fabric, it is embarrassing. So, seal those frames! I recommend Shed Stop Weft Sealer for hair extensions, you can find a 1 oz bottle on amazon.com for just under $ 13.00. You can even find it at your local beauty source. After your weft sealer has completely dried, wash your extensions with a cleaning conditioner. DO NOT USE SHAMPOO! Sorry for yelling, but this can't be stressed enough. Shampooing your virgin hair extensions can leave them dry and dull. Lastly, show a little love for virgin hair with deep conditioning ... your extensions will thank you.

The second phase of caring for your virgin unprocessed virgin Brazilian hair extensions is the actual installation. There are only two things you should know here. 1. Do not cut your extensions. If you cut the wefts into your virgin hair extensions, they will come off even if you apply weft sealer. If you leave your wefts intact after they are sealed, you will see very little shedding. So instead of cutting your wefts, flip them over. 2. Avoid using adhesive or glue if possible. Yes, you can choose bonded virgin hair extensions or quick weaving if you like. However, the process used to remove glue from the capillary tracts also weakens the tract, and is back to detachment.

The last phase of caring for your virgin hair extensions is the fun part, rocking that fabulous hair! There are a few things you should know. Since your extensions are not attached to your scalp, they do not benefit from the natural oils that your scalp produces. To stay smooth and shiny, your extensions need to be moisturized. Don't use grease for your hair. Hair grease does not dry out and will make your extensions dull and beardless. I recommend using argan oil to moisturize your extensions and avoid damage when using styling irons. I know it's a pain, but yes, you still need to tie your hair at night (beauty is pain). Sleep in a silk or silk scarf and always use a high quality wig brush. By following these simple steps, you will protect your investment and enjoy your virgin hair extensions in the coming months.
